  5. The ABS General Ledger System is designed to maintain complete business
  6. records.  Its flexible 3/6/6 account numbering structure supports up to 999
  7. companies, 999,999 accounts, and 999,999 departments per company.  It allows
  8. the user to define the Chart of Accounts, supports up to 26 fiscal periods and
  9. maintains three-year budget data for management reporting purposes.  The
  10. system also maintains data for two years.  The GL system automatically
  11. computes cost of goods sold, federal and state taxes, and retained earnings
  12. change.  It also prepares consolidated and consolidating reports.  An easy to
  13. use Report Writer allows the user to prepare user defined reports for
  14. divisions and/or departments.  G/L includes control accounts for distribution
  15. of expenses across multiple departments and statistical accounts for reporting
  16. financials in nondollar results.  The system provides immediate, on screen
  17. access of all general ledger data, and it receives data from other ABS
  18. accounting systems.  Single and multi-user versions are available.  The
  19. version 7 release includes windows, search routines, hot keys, and an on-line
  20. calculator.  A currency conversion add-on is also available.
